Geometry is the mathematical study of shapes.

Introduction

Geometry is used to analyze and describe shapes. General geometry deals with shapes without using a coordinate system to measure or describe them, while analytic geometry uses a coordinate system. A lot of geometery also involves trigonometry, so you might want to familiarize yourself with it. This page is all about basic shapes.

An all-inclusive text on geometry would fill thousands of pages of print, so I will not even attempt such a feat here. Instead, I will focus on some of the more interesting and useful parts of geometry. Of course, I will also cover a lot of the basics, so you can get a good understanding of the concepts. As with many of my math pages, there will also be a focus on mathematics that are especially useful in computer graphics and video game development.
